How do I transfer terminal data to the MDU?

Why do I need to transfer data to the MDU?

In most cases, the terminals used on site are so-called offline terminals. This means that changes made in the software are not automatically transferred to the terminals via the network. To do so, you need the MDU handheld unit, which serves as a transmission medium between the software and the terminals.

Preparations

  1. Connect the MDU to the PC that you normally* use for the transfer.
  2. Make sure that the MDU is recognized as a separate drive on the PC. If a message indicating that there is a problem with the drive appears when the device is plugged in, repair the drive. To do this, follow the instructions on your monitor.
  3. Open the Dialock 2 web interface and log in with your user.

* The Windows service “Haefele - Universal Client” should be installed on this PC. If it is not installed, you can find the corresponding instructions here: What is the Universal Client and how is it installed?

Where can I find the data transfer command?

Step 1 - Open areas

Navigate via the menu to “Organization” > “Area”

Step 2 - Select area

Click on the corresponding area in the area list (usually only one area is defined)

Step 3 - Execute parameterization

Click on “Parametrise MDU” in the left-hand actions menu. The selection of terminals should now open.

Step 4 - Select terminals

Select all the desired terminals. We recommend clicking on “All Terminals” to select all terminals. Confirm the entry by clicking on “Next”.

Step 5 - MDU parametrisation

Click on “Parametrise” to start the transfer process.

The following processes should then be initiated one after the other:

Generation in progress > Deletion in progress> Writing in progress

Step 6 - Success

The transfer process is complete when this message appears.

You can now remove the MDU from the PC and transfer the data to the terminals using the MDU.
