DG2 - Software migration preparation

NOTE:

  • A software migration should always be performed by the technical support team.
  • The system cannot be used during a migration.

Preparation

The effort involved in a software migration depends on whether only one client (KeyWriter) or an entire server (DG2 software and HMS) is being migrated.
To find out whether the PC in question is set up as a client or server, you can check whether Häfele or HMS services are installed. If at least one of these services is installed, it is a server.

Client migration

Before migrating the Dialock software, the following points should be checked and the results forwarded to the support team, as a software update may be advisable in order to perform the migration:

  1. HMS and KeyWriter
    1. How many client PCs (KeyWriter) need to be moved?
  2. Software versions
    1. Which versions of DG2 and HMS are installed?
  3. System environment
    1. Which operating system is used on the source system and on the target system?
    2. Are the system requirements of the target system met?

Server migration

    Before migrating the Dialock software, the following points should be checked and the results forwarded to Support, as a software update may be necessary to perform the migration:

    1. HMS and KeyWriter
      1. Is an HMS (KeyWriter) available?
      2. How many client PCs has KeyWriter been installed on?
    2. Software versions
      1. Which versions of DG2 and HMS are installed?
    3. System environment
      1. Which operating system is used on the source system and on the target system?
      2. Are the system requirements of the target system met?
    4. Connection to a PMS system
      1. Is a property management system (PMS) such as Protel or LikeMagic used to program keys?
      2. Has the PMS been informed about the planned move?
    5. Device configuration
      1. Are there any online devices (with manufacturer "Häfele Online") in the DG2 software under "Devices" > "Terminals"?

    Execution

    The following must be prepared for the technical support team to carry out the migration:

    1. Remote access via Teamviewer to all PCs involved.
    2. Installation of all outstanding Windows updates.
      1. PC restart after updates have been carried out.
    3. Administrator rights to install the software.
    4. Open ports from the system requirements in the firewall and, if necessary, the antivirus software.
